STAMFORD—A Stamford man was charged Tuesday with not properly securing his gun following the weapon’s theft last month.

Anthony Dupree, 61, of Waterside, was charged with reckless endangerment.

Sgt. Richard Phelan said that Dupree drove to his home on Feb. 12 and left his loaded Glock 9 mm. in his backpack in the rear of his Jeep, which he did not lock.

Sometime during the night his backpack and gun was taken. His gun permit was seized and on Tuesday he was served with a warrant for carelessness. He was released on a promise to appear in court.
