Jeanette F. DuBois, 83, of Kankakee, passed away Wednesday (May 9, 2018) at River North of Bradley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bradley.
She was born Sept. 11, 1934, in Lehigh, the daughter of Albert R. and Anita M. Brown Sarowatz. Jeanette married Maurice L. DuBois on Oct. 10, 1953, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Kankakee. He preceded her in death.
Jeanette retired as a Realtor. She had worked for ReMax Durrell and River Valley Realty, Inc. Jeanette also was a certified medical assistant and had taught at Marycrest Business College. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, antiquing and traveling. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Jeanette was a parishioner of St. John Paul II Catholic Church, West Campus, 953 S. Ninth Ave., Kankakee (formerly St. Martin of Tours).
Surviving are one son, David Lester DuBois, of Tucson, Ariz.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Diana DuBois, of Carmel, Calif., Donna and Wayne Jackson, of Bourbonnais, and Dawn and David Tutt, of Limestone; five grandchildren, Jeff and Autumn Jackson, Damien Jackson and Ben Gart, Andrea Jackson and Aaron Rasheka, Mandy Tutt and Zach and Katie Tutt; seven great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Leroy and Anita Sarowatz, of Limestone, and Mary Lou Evans, of Bradley; one brother-in-law, Eddie Fritz, of Kankakee; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jack Sarowatz; two sisters-in-law, Joan Sarowatz and Patricia Fritz; and one brother-in-law, Richard DuBois.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15, until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home in Kankakee. Deacon Patrick Skelly will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Kankakee.
