Second person dies following April 8 Scranton crash
SCRANTON, S.C. – A second person has died as a result of an April 8 single-vehicle crash on High Hill Road in Scranton.
The crash happened when an east-bound pickup truck ran off the road and into a tree, said Cpl. Sonny Collins, South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken identified the second victim as Paul Bradley Teal, 49, of Lake City. He was a passenger in the pickup.
The pickup’ driver died at the scene. He was identified as Jeffrey Wayne Godwin, 42, by Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken.
None of the people in the pickup were wearing seat belts.
The incident, which happened at approximately 4:30 p.m., remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
