G20 Trump Trolls: Darcy cartoon

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- As a grumpy Trump looked on, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed  bin Salman (MBS) and Russia President Vladimir glad-handed each other with a showy, over the top greeting at the G20 summit.

The video of MBS and Putin grinning ear-to-ear, like two guys who have gotten away with killing their critics in the press, went viral.

Russian Putin critic Gary Kasparov captioned the image “Murder Incorporated.”

If President Trump looks red in the face, it’s in part from MBS and Putin high-fiving each other with Trump wrapped around their fingers.

Prior to the summit, Trump had given MBS a pass for the brutal killing of Washington Post contributing writer Jamal Khashoggi, despite the Central Intelligence Agency finding that MBS, ordered Khashoggi’s killing.

Trump has noted that MBS denied ordering Khashoggi’s death, just as Trump is always quick to note Putin denied interfering in the 2016 presidential election.

Putin arrived at the summit after news that Michael Cohen testified he and the Trump organization were trying to develop a Trump Tower in Moscow the same time President Trump was telling voters he had no deals going on in Russia.

BuzzFeed reported that the Trump team considered giving Putin the proposed Tower’s penthouse, worth $50 million, in attempt to close the deal.

Cohen’s revelations demonstrate that Putin knew and could prove Trump was lying to voters about his Russian business dealings, giving Putin leverage over Trump.  It explains in part, why Trump has long been fawning over Putin.

CIA Director Gina Haspel reportedly has listened to the tape of Khashoggi being killed.   Today, Haspel will brief the Senate’s Armed Services, Foreign Relations and Intelligence Committees, on Khashoggi’s death.   Don’t expect any over the top, high five greetings.
