2nd November snowstorm is a boon for Vermont’s ski areas
MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — Vermont’s Interstate 189 in South Burlington has reopened after a tractor trailer jackknifed on the roadway during a snowstorm.
Many schools also are closed across Vermont as a second November snowstorm blanketed the state.
A winter storm warning called accumulations of between 5 and 9 inches in parts of the state on Friday.
Besides making roads slick, the storm is a boon for Vermont’s ski resort.
Okemo Mountain and Stowe Mountain Resort opened Friday as the snow continued to fall. Sugarbush is opening Saturday.
Killington Resort is already open and other ski areas plan to open later this month.
This story has been corrected to reflect that Interstate 189 was closed, not Interstate 89.
