Man charged with secretly recording sex with crime witness
BRIDGEPORT — A local man, awaiting trial in connection with a Stratford shooting, has been charged with secretly video recording himself having sex with the state’s key witness and then posting the video online.
Davonte Whitehurst, 20, of Iranian Avenue, was charged with voyeurism and disseminating voyeurism materials.
Last October Whitehurst was charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault, unlawful discharge of a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree breach of peace and carrying a pistol without a permit after police said he shot a man in the leg after a brief confrontation at a residence on Wiklund Avenue in Stratford. He is being held in lieu of $350,000 while awaiting trial in that case.
Police said a key witness in the shooting case recently complained that she had discovered that Whitehurst had posted video on social media of him having sex with her at his home.
The woman said the sex activity occurred on Oct. 19, one day before the Stratford shooting incident and that it was consensual. But police said she didn’t know Whitehurst was recording her and did not give him permission to post the video.
