Sandra “Sandy” Coriell, 71, of Braidwood, and formerly of Texas, passed away Tuesday (July 24, 2018) at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
She was born Aug. 24, 1946, in Portsmouth, Ohio, the daughter of Garland and Nettie (Davis) Sparks.
Sandy enjoyed sewing with her sewing group and playing bingo. Most of all, she enjoyed being with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are one son, Aaron Monk, of Arlington, Texas; three daughters, Cheryl Brown, of Crowley, Texas, Holly (James) Jordan, of Kankakee, and Tracey (Phillip) Tyree, of Braidwood; one sister, Vicky (Nick) Markos, of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Barry (Judy) Sparks, of Belleview, Ohio, and Brian (Johnnie) Sparks, of Portsmouth, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Amber (Jeremy) Bauer, Sarah Gann (David Lunn), Vannessa (Jace) Weaver, Eric (Sheri) Brown, Stephen (Nicole) Cole, Tamika (Angel) Zolorzano, Zachery Monk, Kiley Tyree and Brady Tyree; 12 great-grandchildren, Ethan, Chase, Preston, Blayden, Emily, Alek, Chip, Maddison, Wyatt, Emersyn, Michael and Madyson; along with many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and one great-granddaughter, Carlie Bauer.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, until the 1 p.m. service at Schreffler Funeral Homes, Kankakee Chapel. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
