FITCHBURG -- The Lunenburg boys’ indoor track team claimed the District E Gerry Frew Indoor Invitational Track Meet Division 2 championship Saturday at Fitchburg High School’s Doug Grutchfield Field House.

“When we get to districts, there are around 40 other teams from other leagues. Its hard to keep track of their performances. So we usually just focus on ourselves and try to do the best we can in the events we qualify in,” Lunenburg head coach Michael Spare said. “This year it worked out.”

David Gardner won the mile for the Blue Knights and Joe Rivers claimed the district shot put title. Luneburg clinched the team championship with a third-place showing from the 4x400 relay team of Robbie Nash, Seamus Gordon, Michael Alleva and David Gardner.
