Jury convicts man in Peoria shooting death
PEORIA, Ill. (AP) — Jurors in Peoria have convicted a man of murder in a double shooting last April that left one person dead and another injured.
The Journal Star reports (http://bit.ly/1evce96) that 22-year-old Marquis D. Costic faces between 20 and 60 years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 27. Costic was convicted of first-degree murder, aggravated battery and mob action in the death of 17-year-old Treyshawn Blakely.
Costic’s brother, 24-year-old Michael Costic, is scheduled to go to trial on similar charges this month.
