Kidnapping suspect charged in separate rape
A Fort Wayne man arrested late last month on charges of kidnapping a woman was charged today with raping another woman nearly two years ago.
Ronnie McKinney, 57, is charged with two counts of rape, battery and sexual battery, all felonies.
McKinney is accused of raping a woman in downtown Fort Wayne in August 2017.
A probable cause affidavit said a University of Saint Francis security officer saw a man pushing and pulling a woman. The officer said he put the woman into his truck and she passed out. The man who was pushing her fled, the affidavit said.
A DNA sample taken from the woman’s body matched McKinney, who was arrested in late March on charges he kidnapped another woman and confined her in an apartment.
McKinney is charged in that case with kidnapping while armed with a deadly weapon, criminal confinement, battery and interference with the reporting of a crime.
