Goodyear appoints two vice presidents to senior leadership positions

AKRON, Ohio — The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company announced two of its executives will be promoted to senior vice president positions effective Jan. 1, 2019.

Jon Bellissimo will be the company’s senior vice president for global operations & technology, and Laura Duda will serve as its senior vice president for global communications and chief communications officer.

“I am excited to welcome Jon and Laura to Goodyear’s senior leadership team,” Goodyear Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President Richard J. Kramer said in a news release. “They are proven leaders who will bring both innovative thinking and deep industry knowledge that will position Goodyear for the future.”

Bellissimo is the current head of Goodyear Chemical and vice president of Americas Product Development.

He served as director of Goodyear’s Innovation Center in Akron and contributed to the global rise of manufacturing plant startups.

He played a key role in the creation of several of the tire maker’s most successful products in history, including the Assurance WeatherReady tire.

In his new role, Bellissimo will oversee Goodyear’s global engineering, quality, procurement, health safety & sustainability, sales & operations planning, project management, manufacturing and environmental duties.

Duda’s current role is vice president, Americas Communications.

She joined Goodyear in 2016 and previously worked for Exelon Corporation, one of the largest energy companies in the United States.

Duda’s experience includes leading strategic communication functions and corporate, utility and commercial operations for the Chicago-based energy company.

As vice president for global communications and chief communications officer, she will lead all of Goodyear’s global communications and oversee media and community relations, corporate reputation, philanthropy and the company’s fleet of airships.

Duda will enter the role previously filled by Paul Fitzhenry, who will remain with Goodyear through the first quarter of 2019.

Bellissimo will succeed Joe Zekoski, who will retire after serving approximately 40 years with Goodyear.

“I want to express my gratitude for the contributions of both Joe Zekoski and Paul Fitzhenry,” Kramer said in the news release. “Their tireless work and commitment to Goodyear has had a lasting impact on our associates and helped position our company for ongoing success.”

Duda and Bellissimo will report directly to Kramer in their new positions.
