Nonprofit offers reward for info on abandoned dog with tumor

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Authorities in Rhode Island are searching for the person who abandoned a dog with a large tumor.

The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals took the dog in after it was found alone in Providence on Saturday. According to the RISPCA, the dog has a “fatty like tumor” on its left side.

The dog, which has been named Pat, is scheduled to undergo surgery Wednesday.

RISPCA is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible. Anyone with information on the dog is asked to contact the RISPCA at 401-438-8150.
