Canners shut out Kewaskum, clinch SEWBL title

Josh Oswald hit a three-run homer in the first inning and the Clyman Canners never trailed in a 7-0 win over the Kewaskum A’s on Tuesday night at Washington Park.

The Canners wrapped up the South East Wisconsin Baseball League (SEWBL) season championship with the victory and will advance to the Class A state tournament. Their first game at the tournament will be on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. against the winner of the North East Wisconsin Baseball League.

Ryan Kaul added an RBI single in the second inning to make it 4-0 and singled and scored on an error in the fifth. James Muenchow hit a two-run double in the sixth inning.

Tony Schmitt threw seven scoreless innings to earn the shutout, allowing six hits while striking six and walking one.

Clyman closes out the Rock River League season with a road game at Milton on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
