PENNY GAIL GINGER, 70, passed away June 16, 2018, in Fort Myers, Florida, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Huntington, West Virginia, on December 22, 1947, to Prentiss and Edith Ginger. She was a member of the Huntington High School Class of 1965 and attended Marshall University. Soon after, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she lived until her move to Southwest Florida in 2008. Penny is survived by her children, Erin (Dan) Ulmen of Littleton, Colorado, and Ryan Long of Marietta, Georgia; her grandchildren, Ava Ulmen and Matthew Ulmen; her sister, Pattie (Bobby) Necessary of Naples, Florida, and her brother, Prentiss “Hardrock” (Micki) Ginger of Flatwoods, Kentucky; her niece, Trisha Necessary; her nephews, Jeff (Jamie) Ginger and Rustin (Jessica) Necessary; her greatniece, Brooklyn Necessary; and her great-nephews, Ian, Silas and Griffin Ginger and Wells Necessary. She was preceded in death by her brother, Chuck Ginger. Penny will always be remembered for her beautiful, sunny smile and her infectious laugh. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Marietta, Georgia. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Amyloidosis Foundation.
