Shelby-Rising City boys win Concordia Track Meet
The Shelby-Rising City track team started the season off on the right foot, opening with a boys team title and a girls fifth-place finish over the weekend at the Concordia Meet in Seward.
Senior Mason Schleis placed first in the boys long jump with a jump of 20-feet 8-inches and also won the boys triple jump with a mark of 41 feet.
In the boys 3200-meter relay, seniors Garrett Ingalls, Connor Rathman, Dylan Rathman and Max Hoatson placed third with a time of 9:11.41.
Junior Grant Lindsley finished fourth in the boys 60 hurdles with a 9.39.
Senior Austin Coffin placed third in the boys 60 meter dash with a 7.53.
In the girls 400, junior Alison Nekl ran well enough for third with a 1:06.09.
Schleis placed second in the boys 400 with a mark of 53.41.
Ingalls also placed third in the individual 800 with a 2:19.94.
In the boys 200, Coffin ran a 24.80 to place second.
The boys 1600 relay finished with S-RC placing third with a team of Hoatson, Lindsley, Connor Rathman and Schleis. The team ran a 3:42.79.
Junior Kamryn Pokorney placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 34-11.50
Senior Nick Vavricek threw the shot put the second farthest with a toss of 43-1.
Junior Aspyn Harrison finished third in the girls long jump with a jump of 14-6 and fifth in the high jump with a final height of 4-10.
Sophomore Kira Pavlik placed fourth in the girls triple jump with a 31-2.25.
