Florida man downs liquor bottles after train strikes his car
TITUSVILLE, Fla. (AP) — A Florida man told police he drank two bottles of liquor immediately after his car was struck by a train because he was terrified.
Titusville police say 43-year-old Danny Wyatt was driving home from the liquor store last week when he made a wrong turn and his car got stuck on the tracks. He quickly exited the vehicle before it was struck by a train.
Police say he then grabbed a bag from the car and drank two bottles of liquor.
He was charged with felony DUI for the third or subsequent offense within 10 years. Florida Today reports he was also charged with refusing a DUI test after his license was suspended.
