One of the most meaningful things you can do for a family or individual with autism is to learn about it. Pick up a book, find an article, do whatever you can to learn more about what they are going through on a daily basis. Many people recognize the communication problems those with autism struggle with, but don’t really understand all that comes with a diagnosis, whether it’s sensory processing problems, motor skill delays, anxiety, or a myriad of other issues.

The best way to offer understanding is to learn and understand.
