Luther Prep boys defeat Adams-Friendship

December 5, 2018

WISCONSIN DELLS — Senior guard Micah Kieselhorst scored 16 of his game-high 20 points in the first half as the Luther Prep boys basketball team took down Adams-Friendship 54-38 in a nonconference, neutral site game at JustAgame Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells on Saturday.

The Phoenix had a 12-2 scoring run to start the game before leading by 12 at halftime. Luther Prep made outside shots and attacked the rim against Adams-Friendship’s 1-3-1 zone defense.

“Early threes opened up lanes for guys to attack,” Luther Prep head coach Nate Kieselhorst said. “I thought Paul Frick, Malachi Roeseler and Alex Lawrence did a nice job of penetrating gaps and finding guys open under the hoop.”

Roeseler scored eight points and Lawrence had six as Luther Prep (2-1) won games on back-to-back days.

Adams-Friendship (1-3) was led in scoring by Braedyn Quinnell with 14 points.

“I was happy with our play as a whole,” coach Kieselhorst said. “It was two consecutive halves of solid defense. Anytime you keep a team under 40 points on a neutral court you’re very happy about that.”

Luther Prep travels to face Omro on Friday.
