Geology hike planned at Osbornedale State Park
DERBY — Get out into nature this weekend with a hike, led by a retired geology professor, through Osbornedale State Park.
The hike is planned to take place on Mother’s Day, Sunday, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the state park, 555 Roosevelt Drive. The hike will be led by retired University of Connecticut geology professor Randy Steinen.
During the hike, the professor will highlight some of the park’s geological features.
The program is free and open to the public. The group of participants will meet in the parking lot of the Kellogg Environmental Center at 500 Hawthorne Ave. and walk over to the state park.
