BRAINTREE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec 18, 2019--

Green Rabbit, the leading e-commerce cold chain logistics provider to the food industry, today announced the appointment of Doug Allen as chief financial officer. In this new role, Allen will assume responsibility for Green Rabbit’s financial operations, corporate strategy and plans for growth.

Allen brings more than 25 years of business experience to the Green Rabbit team. A strategic executive with a mentorship approach to team building, Allen possesses a keen understanding of what it takes to establish a financial infrastructure, develop comprehensive business plans and procedures, and scale high-growth companies. Allen has served as the chief financial officer at several high-growth companies, including SmartPak Equine, LLC and KUIU, LLC, where he helped build their brands and power rapid growth. Previously, he held several senior financial and operations roles at companies such as Granite Telecommunications, Outpost International, LLC, True Partners, LLC and J. Jill.

“With grocers, CPGs and retailers looking to expand their food initiatives through online delivery, there couldn’t be a better time to join Green Rabbit,” said Allen. “The company has perfected how to deliver temperature-sensitive and perishable foods. I’m honored to join the growing team and I look forward to helping take them to the next level.”

The addition to the senior leadership team comes after Green Rabbit announced a $31 million minority investment from Guidepost Growth Equity to help add additional talent to its workforce and the appointment of three independent members to its board of directors.

“It’s been a monumental year of growth for Green Rabbit and adding a proven financial leader to our executive team sets us up for incredible future success,” said Greg Balestrieri, co-founder and chief executive officer of Green Rabbit. “With Doug’s expertise, we’ll continue to harden our financial and corporate strategy to serve our customers better and alleviate their challenges shipping temperature-sensitive items.”
