Information sought in burglary investigation

April 19, 2019 GMT

KINGMAN — Criminal activity in Fort Mohave and Mohave Valley was detailed in three news releases from the Mohave County Sheriff’s office.

Spokeswoman Anita Mortensen issued a surveillance system image hoping citizens might help identify a woman considered a subject of interest in a burglary investigation.

The probe was initiated on April 5 when a man told authorities he had been informed that his home in the 5200 block of South Taxi Way in Mohave Valley had been burgled while he was out of town.

“It is estimated that over $30,000 worth of items were removed from the residence,” Mortensen said.

Mortensen said neighbors told the victim that a woman had knocked on doors and rang doorbells and behaved suspiciously during the week prior to the burglary. An image of the woman captured by a neighbor’s doorbell camera has been released to area media for circulation.

Anyone with information about the burglary or the person of interest is urged to contact Deputy Schiller at 928-768-7055.

The sheriff’s office also reported the Tuesday arrest of a Fort Mohave man for possession of dangerous drugs and possession of paraphernalia.

Probation officers summoned deputies after finding illegal drugs during an 8:30 p.m. search of a home in the 4400 block of Calle Del Media.

“K9 Doc gave a positive alert for illegal drugs and four grams of a crystal substance was located, which tested positive for methamphetamine,” Mortensen said.

Bobby Leroy Westfall, 35, Fort Mohave, was arrested and taken to jail in Kingman.

Mortensen also reported the arrest Saturday of Megan Leann Millard, 27, of West Jordan, Utah, from an investigation initiated in early January. Millard was charged with fraudulent schemes and intent to facilitate shoplifting.

Mortensen said surveillance system video showed Millard placing items into a shopping cart at a business in the 5200 block of Highway 95. Millard allegedly netted $90 by returning some of the items for reimbursement before leaving the store.

Millard was in custody on an unrelated case when she was arrested on the new charges at the county jail.
