Doylestown man faces felony strangulation charge

A 57-year-old Doylestown man accused of strangling a 36-year-old man faces up to six years in prison if convicted of a felony domestic abuse charge.

Robert Kuhlman made his initial appearance Oct. 16 in Columbia County Circuit Court in Portage for allegedly strangling the man “at a force level of seven” Oct. 12 at a residence in Doylestown, the criminal complaint states.

Kuhlman also could receive up to 90 days in prison for a misdemeanor domestic abuse charge of disorderly conduct concerning the same incident.

The court set Kuhlman’s pretrial conference for Dec. 14, according to online court records.
