Silver Creek man cited after 3 car wreck on Ga. 101

September 7, 2016 GMT

A Silver Creek man was cited for following too closely Tuesday after he rear-ended a white GMC Yukon, which in turn rear-ended a Ford F-150 on Ga. 101, police stated.

There were complaints of injuries, but no one was taken to the hospital by EMS.

According to Floyd County police Pfc. Dallas Bryant:

Corey Higginbotham, traveling north on Ga. 101 in his white GMC Yukon, hit Bonita Wilson’s white GMC Yukon, which had stopped behind Gerald West’s F-150. West had stopped for a car turning left in front of 3011 Rockmart Road.

A witness said Higginbotham never applied the brakes, even though the other two cars were already stopped, contradicting his story that the cars abruptly stopped in front of him.

Higginbotham was cited for following too closely.
