Havasu 95 Speedway reschedules rained out races
Havasu 95 Speedway has found slots in its schedule for the races that were rained out on Jan. 5.
Scheduled to run its first races of the new year and the first event after a month-long break in the schedule, the speedway had to call of the night after one race due to a steady downpour, the first in the region in nearly a month.
The three cancelled races will be folded into the next few races, with one being moved off site.
The Late Models division, which was scheduled for twin 50-lap races around the 1/4-mile oval, will now run twin 50 races on Feb. 9 and 23, the latter replacing a 100-lap event that was previously planned. The Feb. 23 race will still serve as the division’s championship.
Bandoleros will run three main events on Feb. 2 to make up for its missing event.
The 602 Modifieds division will run their makeup races at the slightly longer 3/8-mile oval at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The Southwest Tour Trucks race has been moved from Feb. 2 to Feb. 9, swapping spots with the Outlaw Karts races.
The rest of the schedule remains unchanged, though as seen last week, is subject to shift with weather and other circumstances.
The track’s next event will be held next weekend on Jan. 19, with five divisions racing. The night is highlighted by a 75-lap Street Stocks main event, along with races from Bandoleros, Factory Stocks and Outlaw Karts. The Ray Alcaraz Memorial Vintage Sprints & Midgets race will also run on the busy night, honoring the memory of a longtime fixture at the raceway and founder of the Arizona Vintage Sprints & Midgets division.
Gates will open to the public at 4 p.m. with races scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Tickets are $12 for general admission with seniors, military and handicapped tickets costing $10. Tickets for children ages 6-16 are $6 with younger children getting in free. Family pack tickets for two adults and two kids as well as VIP level tickets each cost $25.
