Host Billerica Green inched closer to the Suburban Pony League 14-15 Division regular-season crown with an 11-1 victory over Lowell Highlands on Monday.

Billerica Green (13-2) can lock up the top spot in the upcoming playoffs by defeating host Methuen on Tuesday (5:45 p.m.).

Luke Collins threw 6 strong innings, giving up 2 hits and striking out 6. Offensively, the Shamrocks came out hitting. Liam Curley went 2-for-3, Vincent Loguidice went 3-for-4 and Cam Rich went 2-for-3 for Billerica.

Host Chelmsford dominated the Rhode Island team in a mercy-rule game stopped after four innings.

Drew Gabriel was the winning pitcher, allowing just 1 hit. Dillon Quinn led the offense by going 2-for-2 with 4 RBI.

Other offensive stars at Fitts Field were Thomas Gonsalves (2-for-3, RBI) and Sean Whalen (1-for-2, 3 RBI).

Chelmsford returns to action Tuesday in the tournament.
