Banco Santander-Brazil: 1Q Earnings Snapshot
SAO PAULO SP, Brazil (AP) _ Banco Santander Brazil SA (BSBR) on Tuesday reported first-quarter net income of $871.2 million.
The bank, based in Sao Paulo Sp, Brazil, said it had earnings of 11 cents per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 18 cents per share.
The financial holding company posted revenue of $5.34 billion in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $3.71 billion, surpassing Street forecasts.
The company’s shares closed at $4.66. A year ago, they were trading at $11.47.
