NWS: Flood advisory for Fairfield, New Haven counties
BRIDGEPORT — The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for Fairfield and New Haven counties Wednesday evening.
The flood advisory was issued at 9:30 p.m. and is in effect until 11 p.m.
Doppler radar showed heavy rain with the potential to cause minor flooding in Fairfield and New Haven counties. About one to one and a half inches of rain has already fallen so far Wednesday evening, NWS said.
Areas that should expect to see some potential flooding are Bridgeport, Stamford, Norwalk, Danbury, Milford, Shelton, Southbury, New Canaan, New Haven, Waterbury, Milford, Wallingford, Naugatuck, Southbury, Wolcott, Sherman and Newtown.
The flood advisory means river or stream flows will be elevated.
