Lois L. Koellen, 85, of Watertown, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Marquardt Health Center in Watertown.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Johnson Creek with the Rev. Dale Vlastnik officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Johnson Creek. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to Rainbow Hospice or the church. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Lois Leone Schoenike was born on Jan. 9, 1934, to Arthur and Leone (nee Freiman) Schoenike at their home in Johnson Creek. She was a graduate of Johnson Creek High School. On April 16, 1955, Lois married Lloyd Koellen at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown. Lois had previously been employed at Equity Livestock Market, My Store clothing shop and food demonstration at Pick ’n Save. She was a member at Jefferson Draft Horse Association, Hubbleton Snowmobile Club, Grelton Homemakers Club and Plattdeutscher Auxiliary. Lois was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Johnson Creek. She enjoyed flowers, crafts, reading, cards and horse events.

She is survived by her children, Linda (Katrina) Knilans, Jeffrey (Laurie) Koellen, Scott (Lisa) Koellen, Kurt (Monica) Koellen; grandchildren, Trisha (Sam) Caine, Katelyn (Justin) Thom, Kala (fiancé Matt) Koellen, Tim Koellen, Tyler Koellen, Kyle Koellen; great-granddaughter, Emersyn Caine; step-granddaughter, Amy (Andy) Besag; step-great grandchildren, Karena Besag, Klara Besag; brother, Merlin (Lois) Schoenike; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Lloyd Koellen; parents; son, Lloyd Arthur Koellen; siblings, Arthur Schoenike, Norbert Schoenike; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Schoenike, Lois Schoenike.
