Windows shot out at medical, professional complex
BULLHEAD CITY — Police and tenants of a local medical and professional complex at the intersection of Highway 95 and Meadows Drive are asking the public for help in solving a rash of vandalism that has caused thousands of dollars in damage.
“Since last week, Palo Verde Meadows medical complex businesses have reported several cases of persons shooting windows with a BB gun,” said Emily Fromelt, spokeswoman for the Bullhead City Police Department. “Anyone with any information is urged to call the BHCPD at 928-763-9200.”
One tenant said she thought the first incident was April 9, when three windows reportedly were damaged. Since then, several other businesses have been targeted in what appear to be four separate waves of vandalism. At least one of the businesses reportedly has been vandalized this way more than once during the past week.
One of the medical offices had a large window pane almost completely shot out. Small pieces of glass still littered the ground Monday afternoon because the office was closed.
“It’s very costly for all of us,” said Brenda Buth, office manager at Palo Verde Foot & Ankle, another business in the complex. “Just at our office, over the past week, they have shot through two doors and three windows.”
Where glass had decorated both doors on one side of the building are pieces of plywood, she pointed out.
Tenants and police have reviewed security video in an attempt to identify the shooter or shooters. One tenant said that it appeared at least one shooter was on foot because office windows away from the parking lots and streets in the complex also have been targeted.
“I hope they catch them soon,” said Carol Diehl, physical therapist at Palo Verde Physical Therapy.
Fromelt said the investigation is ongoing.
