SCITUATE, R.I. (AP) — A 23-year-old Massachusetts man has been arrested and a second suspect is being sought in connection with two convenience store robberies in Rhode Island.

Rhode Island State Police say Monchi Castillo of Springfield, Mass., was charged with first-degree robbery and several other crimes for his alleged roles in armed robberies in Cranston and Coventry early Saturday morning.

Police are searching for a second man described as about 5-feet-10-inches tall and last seen wearing a black North Face jacket, light gray or brown pants and brown shoes.

Authorities believe the two men also robbed stores in Massachusetts in Uxbridge and Grafton. Massachusetts authorities are now helping with the investigation.

Castillo is being held without bail pending an arraignment scheduled for Monday. It's not clear if he has a lawyer.
