Anti-Trump rhetoric unfounded
Lately I’ve seen a fair amount of anti-Trump rhetoric from various columnists in this paper, and I have have to say that I really don’t understand much of it. But whether you like him or not, I will say that we all can agree that President Donald Trump’s done a wonderful job of turning around our economy in a short period of time. And we need to give credit where credit is due.
Since Election Day, the American economy has added almost 4 million jobs, and 600,000 more Americans have been added to the workforce. And a total of 155,576,000 Americans are working, which is a record high.
While the unemployment rate hovers at around 4 percent, the unemployment rate for high school grads is now 3.9 percent, which is a 17-year low. And the black unemployment rate is at 3.9 percet as well, which is also a 17-year low.
The worker pay rate is the highest it’s been in 10 years, and the nation’s quarterly GDP growth rate is at an astounding 4.1 percent. And Trump feels that this rate will be much higher down the road. Whereas Obama’s average quarterly GDP for all eight of his years was only at 1.8 percent because of his disastrous tax and spend policies.
Is it any wonder that Trump’s approval rating is now at 45 percent, which is the highest mark of his presidency? We haven’s seen this type of massive economic growth since the Reagan years, because of his tax cuts and other factors. Tax cuts may not seem fair to a lot of people, but they’ve been proven to work beautifully under the Reagan administration. And they’re working very, very well now for this country.
