KSP investigates accidental shooting involving children
BLAINE, Ky. — The Ashland Post of the Kentucky State Police is investigating an accidental shooting in which two children were injured after an unsecured pistol went off in their home, according to a release from KSP.
The incident occurred on Ramey Branch Road in Blaine, Lawrence County.
According to the release, both children, ages 4 and 11, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to make full recoveries. The children were lying in their parents’ bed watching television when one of them obtained or disturbed a .22 caliber target pistol that had not been properly secured by the mother. No criminal charges have been filed.

The following Information was provided by booking records kept at Western Regional Jail:
Perdita Fitisemanu-Harless, 37, was jailed at 4 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities in Cabell County arrested her on an active warrant. Bond was not set.
