Player to watch: Freshman forward Linus Weissbach, who missed last Saturday’s game with an upper-body injury but is expected to play tonight, has two goals and five assists in a five-game point streak.

You should know: The Badgers are winless (0-2-1) against Notre Dame in three games at the Kohl Center. The Fighting Irish won the inaugural hockey game in the venue on Oct. 3, 1998, then earned a tie and victory in a series in January 2004. ... Goalie Jack Berry is scheduled to start the opening game of a series for the first time this season.

Player to watch: Sophomore goaltender Cale Morris was named the Hockey Commissioners’ Association Player of the Month for November, when he was 8-0 with a 1.12 goals-against average and .969 save percentage.

You should know: The 11-game winning streak that Notre Dame carries into the series is its longest when it is a member of a Division I conference. The Irish won 15 straight as a club program in 1983-84 and 14 straight as an independent in 1987-88. ... Forward Jake Evans leads the country in assists (21) and points (28).
