Police are looking for a “person of interest” in a Highland Park homicide who walked away from a local emergency room after being in police custody.

Police took Joseph Ivan Gray, 37, into custody on Saturday, in connection with the death of a man Nov. 3 in Highland Park.

Oliver Olds had been dead for three to four days when he was found in an apartment building at 1155 W. McNichols, Detective Brian Menge said. Medical examiners later ruled the death a homicide. Gray is considered armed and dangerous, police said.

Gray was transferred to the hospital because of an injury and later walked out, Menge said.
