Siri homers again as Billings Mustangs complete sweep of Idaho Falls
Jose Siri homered again, and Ian Kahaloa allowed one run in five innings as the Billings Mustangs earned a three-game sweep of the Idaho Falls Chukars with a 6-1 win Wednesday night at Dehler Park.
Siri hit a two-run home run in the first inning for his fifth homer in the last four games. It was his eighth on the season.
Gabriel Ovalle added three hits and two RBIs for the Mustangs, who improved to 30-18 overall and 7-3 in the Pioneer League’s second half.
Kahaloa (2-1) allowed four hits and struck out four before giving way to a quartet of relievers who held the Chukars scoreless after they scored their single run in the fifth.
Alfredo Mena, Jake Johnson, Aaron Quillen and Soid Marquiz each pitched a scoreless inning, with each giving up one hit.
The Mustangs are off Thursday before starting a seven-game swing to Ogden and Idaho Falls. Friday marks the start of a three-game series with the Raptors. The Mustangs return to Dehler Park on Aug. 19.
