Pistons Trade for Augmon, Long; Sign Curry, Reid
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) _ The Detroit Pistons acquired Stacey Augmon and Grant Long from the Atlanta Hawks on Monday for four draft choices, and signed free agents Michael Curry and Don Reid.
The Pistons gave up a top-16 protected first-round pick obtained from Sacramento in 1994, a lottery protected first-rounder beginning in 1998, the least favorable 1997 second-round pick, and the best 1999 second-round pick.
Long, a 6-foot-9 forward, averaged 13.1 points and a career-high 9.6 rebounds in 82 games last season. Augmon, a 6-8 guard-forward, averaged 12.7 points and 3.9 rebounds in 77 games.
Reid, a center, averaged 3.8 points and 2.9 rebounds in 69 games as a rookie last season. Curry, a guard, averaged 4.6 points in 41 games.
Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
