Arrest in April hit-and-run that killed bicyclist
MONROE, La. (AP) — Louisiana State Police say a man has been arrested in the death of a bicyclist who was hit by a car in April, while riding at night in dark clothes and without lights.
A news release Wednesday said 38-year-old Taurus Bray of Monroe was arrested Tuesday on charges of hit-and-run driving and failure to report a crash. The accident occurred shortly after midnight April 16 and killed 41-year-old Stanquan Young of Monroe.
State police reported in April that Young was hit as he rode across the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 165. He was thrown from his bicycle into the median of the four-lane highway.
Police say the crash is still being investigated.
