Trial set for March in Bozeman woman’s shooting death
BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — A jury trial for a Montana man accused of fatally shooting his female roommate is set to begin in March.
The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports that prosecutors filed court documents in June saying they will not seek the death penalty against 56-year-old William Frederick Bailey. Bailey is accused of shooting 59-year-old Cynthia Carol Wills in April.
According to court documents, Bailey was upset that Wills was spending time with another man. Police have said the two argued when Bailey asked Wills to move out and Bailey fired twice at Wills after she threw something at his front door.
She died the following day at a hospital.
Bailey remains in the Gallatin County jail on $1 million bail.
