CARNEGIE, Pa. (AP) — Authorities have made an arrest in connection with an attack at a western Pennsylvania apartment that left a man dead and a woman critically injured.

Richard Mickens Jr. was arrested early Wednesday at a home in Scott, shortly after police surrounded the residence. Mickens is charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault and rape, and it wasn’t known if he’s retained an attorney.

The charges stem from an incident in Carnegie that occurred around 7:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police responded to the unit after an injured 31-year-old woman ran to a neighbor’s home and sought help. Officers found 51-year-old Luke Connolly, who had been stabbed multiple times in the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman was stabbed and remains hospitalized.

Authorities have not said what sparked the dispute.
