VALLEY SANTA: Health Issues Leave Mom Struggling To Buy Gifts

December 16, 2018 GMT

Four local siblings lost their father three years ago when he committed suicide.

“He made the choice himself which made it harder on all of us,” their mother Christine wrote in a letter to Valley Santa.

Shortly after he died, Christine was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and epilepsy.

“This past year alone, I’ve had eight seizures since July,” Christine wrote. “These amazing kids have managed to help me with everything and get awesome grades at school.”

Christine calls her children her “heroes.” She asked for Valley Santa’s help to provide Christmas gifts for her three daughters and her son.

Valley Santa relies on donations to purchase Christmas gifts for children in need throughout Luzerne County.

“I would greatly appreciate any help,” Christine wrote. “It’s been a long, hard, rough year and being immobile has been really hard on me as a mother. They shouldn’t have grown up as fast as they needed to. I feel horrible as a mom in many ways because I depend on them so much. They deserve the world.”
