Strong Second Day Pushes USC Aiken To 14-Stroke Lead
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — The No. 9 University of South Carolina Aiken golf team had a PBC record-setting round Saturday afternoon at the Peach Belt Conference Championship.
Head coach Michael Carlisle’s team shot a PBC Championship record 11-under par, 277 for the 18-hole day. The Pacers are now 15-under par for the tournament (561) with one round remaining.
USC Aiken holds a 14-stroke lead over second-place No. 11 Columbus State (-1,575). No. 19 Young Harris is third and stands at 21-over par, 597.
Senior Johnson Holliday is in first place through 36 holes of play. He shot 10-under par, 134, through 36 holes. Holliday carded a round of six-under par, 66, on day two.
Teammate Axel Östensson stands in fourth place. He is one-under par through 36 holes action. Östensson went two-under par on day two. He stands at 143 going into the final day of play.
August Lindvall soared into the top five with a four-under par, 68. He moved up 22 spots on the second day of action and is now tied for fifth. Lindvall has a two-day tally of even-par, 144.
Rookie George Eubank posted a one-over par, 73. His two day tally is one-over par, 145. Eubank is tied for seventh.
Dan Sheehan is 19th at five-over par, 149.
