Wayne 4-Hers compete in state horse judging contest
KEYSER, W.Va. — On Saturday April 14, the Wayne County 4-H Horse Judging Team competed in the State 4-H & FFA Horse Judging Contest at Potomac State in Keyser.
The team includes (l-r): Lauren Crabtree, Molly Jenkins, Bekah Napier, Jessica Mitchell and Coach Brenda Davis.
In the Senior Division, Jessica Mitchell placed 1st and Lauren Crabtree placed 3rd (out of 40 competitors).
In the Junior Division, Molly Jenkins placed 1st and Bekah Napier placed 2nd (out of 14 competitors). The team met weekly since January learning about horses, how to effectively judge them, and how to give oral reasons.
