HS VOLLEYBALL: Comets Rally For Win Against Blue Ridge
James McGrail had 20 kills and nine digs as Abington Heights rallied for a 3-2 win over Blue Ridge in a District 1-2-11 Class 2A subregional boys volleyball quarterfinal match Wednesday.
Matt Pacyna had 28 assists and five kills for the Comets, who dropped the first two sets but then won three straight to advance to Tuesday’s semifinals. Nate Steinback added 22 assists and eight kills for the winners.
Cameron Franks had 12 kills and 10 points for Blue Ridge, Calvin Scheideler had seven kills, Evin Davies had five blocks and five kills and Parker Dissinger had nine points.
Abington Heights will play Bethlehem Catholic in the semifinals on Tuesday at Holy Redeemer.

At Blue Ridge, Nicholas Andrews had nine digs and six assists for Forest City in a loss to Bethlehem Catholic in a quarterfinal match.
Matt Giles had five points and six assists for the Foresters and Carmine Gigliotti had six digs.
Holy Redeemer defeated Dock Mennonite, 3-0, to advance to the semifinals. The Royals will play Tunkhannock, which defeated Berwick, 3-0, in the quarterfinals.
