Today’s quiz: Here is another in the current series of quizzes on the specialized use of a double in certain bidding sequences. In the following problem, what is your partner trying to tell you with his double in the sequence shown?

Opp. You Opp. Part.

1S Pass 3S Pass

4NT Pass 5H Dble.

As in last week’s quiz, where your partner doubled a two heart transfer bid made in response to a one notrump opening, your partner here has doubled an opponent’s artificial bid. This time, partner has doubled a five-heart response to a Blackwood four notrump bid, indicating that he would like you to lead a heart against the opponents’ final contract, whatever it may be.
