Wetlands are topic of May stormwater discussion

May 9, 2018

Managing habitat for wetland wildlife is the topic of this month’s Stormwater Presents Speaker Series.

Ray Norrgard, a wetland management program leader with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, will discuss the importance of providing habitat needed for survival.

Wetlands losses, particularly temporary and seasonal wetlands, have severely challenged our abilities to provide habitat needed for all local species. The deteriorating quality of remaining wetlands has compounded the problem.

The discussion is set for 7 p.m. May 23 at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota – Cascade Meadow, 2900 19th St. NW, Rochester.
