Williams-Sonoma: Fiscal 3Q Earnings Snapshot
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ Williams-Sonoma Inc. (WSM) on Thursday reported fiscal third-quarter profit of $81.5 million.
On a per-share basis, the San Francisco-based company said it had profit of $1. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 95 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 12 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 94 cents per share.
The seller of cookware and home furnishings posted revenue of $1.36 billion in the period, missing Street forecasts. Nine analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.37 billion.
For the current quarter ending in January, Williams-Sonoma expects its per-share earnings to range from $1.89 to $1.99. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had forecast adjusted earnings per share of $1.98.
The company expects full-year earnings in the range of $4.26 to $4.36 per share.
Williams-Sonoma shares have climbed 17 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $60.60, a climb of 19 percent in the last 12 months.
