BELFAST, Northern Ireland (AP) _ Steve Morrow and Phil Gray scored in a seven-minute span as Northern Ireland upset World Cup-bound Romania 2-0 Wednesday night in Bryan Hamilton's first game as coach.

Morrow put home team ahead with three minutes left in the first half, and Gray scored four minutes after halftime.

It was a disappointing result for the Romanians, who fielded a virtually full-strength team in its build up to the World Cup, which starts June 17. Romania is in Group A with the United States, Switzerland and Colombia.

Romania could have gone ahead in the 15th after when Gheorghe Hagi's cross was headed on by Florin Raducioiu, but Ilie Dumitrescu mis-kicked in front of an open goal.
