Nebraska men’s basketball lands in-state Akol Arop
The Omaha World Herald reports that Omaha Creighton Prep forward Akol Arop committed to Nebraska last night, giving the Huskers three straight classes with an in-state recruit.
The 6’5, 189-pound Arop is the top-rated in-state player in the 2019 class. The Huskers signed Platteview post Brady Heiman in 2018, and Lincoln North Star guard Donovan Williams committed to Nebraska’s 2020 class last month. Arop is known for his athleticism and vertical jump of 36 inches, but he also worked to improve his shooting. Nebraska-Omaha was the first to offer Arop in December 2017. He also had offers from Drake, UC Davis, Towson, UNC Greensboro, San Diego and Tulsa.
