SPARKS, Nev. (AP) — Authorities in Reno have identified the armed, suicidal subject who was shot and killed by Sparks police earlier this week as an 18-year-old man.

The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim Tuesday as Miciah Lee. His city of residence remains unknown.

Reno police and the Washoe County sheriff’s office are investigating Sunday evening’s officer-involved shooting.

Reno police said Monday Sparks officers responded to a call about a suicidal subject in the 1000 block of Rock Boulevard at about 5:50 p.m. but he had already left the area.

They spotted him driving a few blocks away but he refused to stop. Police say he crashed the vehicle and reached toward a gun before officers shot him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was hurt.
