Janet Blake

Janet Mary Blake, 69, of Lafayette, Ind., passed away Saturday (Jan. 27, 2018) at her daughter’s home in Bourbonnais, following a long illness.

She was born on July 20, 1948, in Kankakee, the daughter of Edward and Matilda Jones Blair.

Janet married Bruce Blake on June 16, 1983, in Kankakee.

She worked at General Foods in Kankakee for 34 years, and during that time returned to school to become a nurse. Janet then worked at several nursing homes as an LPN.

Surviving are her husband, Bruce, of Lafayette, Ind.; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Marsha (Jeff) Graeber, of Bourbonnais, and Ginny (Wayne) Stockton, of Avondale, Ariz.; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Brad (Donna) Blake, of Bradley, and Craig Blake, of Bradley; five grandchildren, Joshua (Molly) Graeber, Rebecca Graeber, Elizabeth Graeber, Stone Stockton and River Stockton; and one great-granddaughter, Kenley Mosier. Janet also is survived by one brother and two sisters-in-law, Robert (Emily) Blair, of Manteno, and Althea Blair, of Bourbonnais; and one sister, Connie Corcoran, of Bourbonnais..

Preceding her in death were her parents; and one brother, Richard Blair

Private services will be at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
